After investing a hefty budget they came up with the new Daiwa Exist 2004, which is quite expensive but very light, new and top of the line spinning reel. Most buyers hesitate with the dollar amount this reel costs, however, once they have received and opened the package, all the hesitation and disappointment were gone.
The reel is finely marked with sophistication with its frosted grey finish and reflective silver accents. The Daiwa Exist is very sleek in its grayish color.

The body weight is amazingly light and surprised them. The Daiwa Exist measures 6.4 ounces, or 180 grams, with a gear ratio or actual retrieve of 4.8:1, a maximum drag of 5 pounds, 11 CCEB + 1 roller for bearings and a line capacity of 3 lb/90 yds. It's unbelievably light it's comparable to the Certarte and Shimano Stella.

Daiwa Exist spinning reels are meant to house 100 meters of 4 pound test line, thus the "4" in 2004. The same also goes to the other Daiwa Exist Models such as 2506 with spools that are sized for 100 meters of 6 pound test line. If you choose the higher ones like the 2508 and the 3012 reels, the maximum jumps up to 150 meters and 8 and 12 pound test line, respectively.

Casting with the Daiwa Exist 2004 is very easy as expected, same with other spinning reels. Bail function is also noiseless and flawless. The Daiwa Exist also has a counterpart, the Daiwa Exist Steez. This reel is for freshwater fishing but is special with its fluorocarbon line. The Exist Steez has a reverse taper spool and gives more storage at the bottom of the spool than the top for lines.

Daiwa Exist's retrieve, as with most all the Daiwa's reelfour technology spinning reels, for all its intent and purpose, impeccable. There is a non wobbling effect however fast or slow you spin the handle. Without much effort, the chrome highlighted spool of the Exist sway up and down, and the one-piece airbail guides the line to the reel's two bearing supported line roller.

Some disadvantages in the Daiwa Exist 2004 are the twists and the drag. You cannot still avoid the twists in this gear, same as any other reel, but there are effective ways to prevent the twists and tangles. Although one might encounter problems with the drag itself, it is fair enough to say that the Exist 2004's drag is sufficient for its intended purpose.
